Aims and Scope
Ionics is publishing original results in the fields of science and technology of ionic motion. This includes theoretical, experimental and practical work on electrolytes, electrode, ionic/electronic interfaces, ionic transport aspects of corrosion, galvanic cells, e.g. for thermodynamic and kinetic studies, batteries, fuel cells, sensors and electrochromics. Fast solid ionic conductors are presently providing new opportunities in view of several advantages, in addition to conventional liquid electrolytes.

Verified Reviews
Note: Verified reviews are sourced from across review platforms and social media globally.
After submission (or revision), it generally takes about 3 days for the paper to be under review, and within a month, the review comments will be provided. The decision by the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) will be made within a week. Therefore, I estimate that the entire review process takes about 40 days.

The revision period given by the editor is quite long (4 months).

March 20th - Submission
April 14th - Major revision (3-6 questions from two reviewers)
May 7th - Revision (added key experiments and characterization for one month)
June 2nd - Major revision (one acceptance, two questions from another reviewer)
June 4th - Revision (mainly modifying the content of the paper)
July 2nd - Acceptance (had to urge once, but this time the review was really slow!!)

Summary: This is my first work, and my advisor is not very familiar with electrochemistry. A lot of time was wasted during the initial draft revision (2 months before submission). In the end, I submitted the original version. The process was quite challenging. I can only wait for the academic committee in September and make revisions according to the reviewers' comments.

Recommendation: If the advisor is not knowledgeable in a certain field, it is advisable to discuss and make revisions based on one's own understanding. It is better to seek advice from senior students in the field of electrochemistry whom you know.

12.7 Submission, and after submission it immediately became "under review".
12.30 Received reviewers' comments, three reviewers, minor revisions. At one point, it changed from "under review" to "awaiting EIC consideration" and then changed back to "under review", probably because the opinions of two reviewers were not enough, so another reviewer was sought.
1.18 Submitted revisions.
1.20 Accepted.

It only took a little over a month from the initial submission to acceptance, although some time was delayed due to my vacation at home. Otherwise, it could have been controlled within a month.

Both the editor and the reviewers were very diligent and responsible. Thumbs up!
