Posted in mid-November 2020, it took 3 days to reach the editor's hands, and then it took another two days for review.
The review process took about 20 days, with three reviewers providing over twenty comments. One reviewer suggested minor revisions, while the other two did not express their opinions. The editor's attitude was unclear, only stating that they would consider revisions and providing a 21-day revision period. After that, I conducted additional experiments and included 5 additional data points in the revised manuscript. The second round of review had no issues according to two reviewers, but one reviewer insisted on an explanation of the specific mechanism. The editor granted another 21 days, and I supplemented two additional comparative experiments to further support my findings. Finally, the manuscript was accepted directly.
Overall, the quality has improved after the revisions. If the supplementary experiments are included in the main text, there is a good chance for publication in a top-tier journal. However, my previous submissions to three top journals were rejected, which delayed my progress for nearly half a year. Therefore, I chose to submit to Col sur A out of urgency to graduate. I express my gratitude to Editor Xuehai Yan for their high efficiency.
This is my first SCI paper as a master's student, and it is unlikely that I will have another SCI publication in my life. I wish everyone smooth submissions and the continued success of Col sur A!

My first experimental paper in my life was submitted multiple times. Finally, I submitted it to CEJ for review and was criticized heavily by the second reviewer. There were three reviewers, and after revision, the other two requested publication, but the second reviewer raised 28 additional questions. In short, it wasn't good enough. The CEJ editor requested a resubmission, but later, they forgot and rejected my paper!!! My advisor asked me to write an appeal letter explaining the situation and the highlights of the paper, but I was too tired. It took over a year from writing to submitting, revising, and resubmitting this paper. I wanted to graduate quickly, so I encountered my lucky journal and submitted it directly (during this time, my advisor also suggested trying other journals, but I refused because I wanted to graduate. After three years, I finally stood my ground). Overall, the paper was reviewed the day after submission and took less than 20 days for revision. Later, due to the pandemic, I couldn't address some of the reviewer's questions (in general, the workload was not small), but the editor still accepted it. The entire process took about 2 months. It took 21 days for review, over 17 days for revision, and then waited for a little over a week.
