Posted on August 26th, received first review response on October 19th. Two green lights and one red light, the editor suggested resubmission.

Resubmitted on November 4th, received second review response on November 9th, with minor revisions suggested.

Submitted the minor revisions on November 11th, and they were accepted on November 16th.

PCCP is now paying more attention to experimental results. It is advised to be cautious when submitting pure computational/simulation research to PCCP.

Even though the research type selected during submission was computational/simulation, the reviewer still focused on experimental aspects and directly recommended rejection. The reviewer's feedback included: 1. Lack of research motivation; 2. Why not compare multiple materials; 3. Lack of experimental data.

As a result, an additional section was added to emphasize the novelty of the results in response to the first review. The response letter addressed these concerns with over 1500 words. However, the second reviewer asked similar questions about materials and experiments, which was a bit frustrating. Thankfully, minor revisions were requested.

Another detailed response of over 1000 words was provided. Finally, the stubborn reviewer was convinced, and the paper was successfully accepted.

2022-05-24 submitted to journal
2022-06-09 with editor It took about two weeks from submission to editor review.
2022-06-17 in peer review Briefly went into peer review, then continued with editor review.
2022-06-24 in peer review Probably invited a second reviewer, and remained in peer review afterwards.
2022-07-01 reject Two reviewers, one reject and one suggested minor revisions for publication. The rejecting reviewer stated that the article was not suitable for the journal, as the work done by the authors had already been done by someone else before, and lacked new insightful perspectives.
