Aims and Scope
Advances in Geo-Energy Research (ISSN: 2207-9963; eISSN: 2208-598X; CODEN: AGRDC4) aims to publish high quality papers rapidly in the fields of natural geo-energy (oil, gas, coal geothermal, and gas hydrate), and focuses on combining theoretical, numerical and experimental approaches to the fundamental scientific advances in geo-energy systems.

Advances in Geo-Energy Research is an interdisciplinary and international periodical devoted to promote the interaction and multidisciplinary collaboration among scientific groups from different countries and regions, and both industry and academia. The scope of the journal is to provide an academic medium to researchers who are actively involved in one or more of the fields of geo-energy systems.

Advances in Geo-Energy Research is a quarterly open access journal and free to read for all. It accepts original research articles, reviews, and rapid communications in the following domains of engineering, science and technology (but not limited to):
(1) Geo-energy exploration, development and production
(2) Heat and mass transfer in underground reservoirs
(3) Unconventional oil and gas geology and engineering integration
(4) New methods and techniques enhancing geo-energy recovery
(5) Major theoretical progress and case studies of geo-energy
AGER received a notice on October 26, 2021, stating that it has been officially included in the Ei Compendex database. Currently, all the papers published in AGER since its establishment in 2017, totaling 170 articles, have been included in the Ei Compendex database. The journal has also been gradually included in other databases such as Scopus, Geobase, DOAJ, CA, J-Gate, etc. In December 2021, the real-time CiteScore reached 9.0.

Advances in Geo-Energy Research (AGER), abbreviated as AGER, was founded in March 2017, and the first issue was officially published in June of the same year. It was founded by Professor Cai Jianchao and co-edited by Professor David A. Wood, the former editor-in-chief of JNGSE. AGER is currently published by Yandy Scientific Press (formerly the Australian Science Press before June 2020) with the international ISSN: 2207-9963; eISSN: 2208-598X. It was initially published quarterly and will change to bimonthly starting from 2022.

First attempt to submit an article to AGER journal, and I was shocked by the speed of manuscript handling. Within 2 weeks, I received the first round of comments, which were highly professional and greatly improved the quality of the article! After making revisions, I received the second round of comments within a week, and the journal editor made meticulous language edits and improvements~ The revised version was accepted immediately and quickly published. I have also published more than 20 SCI papers, including some in top-tier journals. Comparatively, I feel that the entire process of submission, review, and revision in AGER is excellent! It is efficient, responsible, and publishes quickly~ It has now entered the ESCI list, and becoming an SCI journal is just a matter of time~ With good results, I will continue to submit to this journal.
