Finally, the editor highlighted all the parts that were not smooth in expression or had inaccurate wording, and downloaded the edited paper to correct the specialized vocabulary one by one. It took a total of 4 months.

After submission, it went relatively smoothly. After receiving feedback from two reviewers and making major revisions, the reviewers agreed to accept it! Then the editor asked for language polishing again... Fortunately, it was eventually accepted!

Overall, the efficiency of the journal is very high. They quickly respond after submission, and the editor is very responsible. The editor is well-known in the same industry, and the reviewers' comments are very professional. However, the language requirements are really high. It feels like the whole submission process is focused on the language. I once thought about withdrawing the submission, but the editor always said that the article was good but needed language modifications... The final result was still good, it was accepted! The field is sedimentology.

P.S. One of the reviewers provided a 6,000-word review in the first round, including a lot of discussions that were not very relevant to the article. It was almost like chatting about life and ideals. But the response in the second round was just one sentence saying they agreed to publish, and I still don't understand what happened!
