Submission,
After 14 days, there were three reviewers (major revision, major revision, minor revision), and there were no major issues. The revisions were made systematically.
Two days later, the editor replied saying that they expected the manuscript to be revised and polished using MDPI's services. The author used MDPI's paid editing service and made revisions according to the reviewers' comments, and resubmitted the manuscript.
The reviewers responded as follows:
Reviewer 1: No comments, accept.
Reviewer 2: Did not see any comments.
Reviewer 3: I believe there is no innovation!!!! I suggest rejecting the submission!!!!
The editor decided to reject the manuscript and encouraged the author to resubmit it.
So, the author made further revisions and resubmitted the manuscript.
The editor replied again: Didn't I tell you? I won't handle your manuscript anymore. I told you not to submit it. !!!!!!!!!!
Can I use foul language? Is this what MDPI is like? FOODs? It should be selected as a predatory journal!!!!!!!!

The manuscript is quite unique as it is my first time writing an article in the food category. There were many issues raised by the reviewers when I submitted it before the New Year. Although it was rejected, they suggested resubmitting after making serious revisions based on their feedback. I conducted a significant amount of additional experiments and submitted it again this year. Overall, the reviewers were satisfied with the revisions and only had two issues regarding the figures and tables. I am very happy and feel fulfilled, as I have grown and learned a lot from this experience. In general, the editorial process was fast, the reviewers were professional, and the journal has high standards (four reviewers reviewing the manuscript). It is not like the average quality of OA journals in the industry, after all, it is a 2nd-tier journal, so it is worth submitting to.
