Extracts from Zanthoxylum plants exhibit antibacterial and anti-nematode egg activities. Submitted on March 22nd, under review on March 26th, followed by a long wait. On May 8th, a major revision was requested by two reviewers, suggesting the need for additional discussions to reflect the significant scientific significance of the work. They also requested supplementary analysis on the chemical composition and its relevance to the observed activity. On May 10th, the revised manuscript was resubmitted and was again under review. On June 11th, a minor revision was requested, and on June 15th, the revisions were completed and resubmitted. On June 18th, the manuscript was accepted for publication. The process took a little over two months, and the smooth acceptance was expected since the target journal was JAFC (Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry), although it was initially intended for FBIO (Food and Bioprocess Technology) for various reasons. Hopefully, domestic food science and technology journals will continue to improve.

The speed is really fast. The paper was under review with the editor within two days, and the review comments came back in about 10 days. Two kind-hearted reviewers gave high evaluations of the paper. Before this, I had submitted to two journals with an impact factor above 6, but they were directly rejected. After conducting an additional experiment, I submitted to this journal. After major revisions, the review comments came back within 5 days. I made minor revisions and submitted them. After a weekend, the editor directly accepted it. The speed is really fast. From submission to final acceptance, it took 1 month and 10 days. I am grateful to the reviewers and the editor. I hope domestic journals will continue to improve!
