Review from the editor on XiaoMucang:

The latest Impact Factor (IF) is 2.443, and as a well-established optical journal, it is steadily rising.

The editorial department is undergoing various reforms to improve the publication quality, resulting in a decrease in acceptance rate to around 30%.

From July 1st until now, OPTIK has accepted 176 articles and rejected 436, not including articles that require revisions. The acceptance rate is 28.7% and is expected to stabilize at 25%.

Some teachers or students may have doubts about why their initial submission was not accepted. They may feel frustrated and send emails to the editors. However, most editors will not pay much attention to these emails. It is normal for initial submissions to be rejected. Should all submissions be sent for review? This is the case for every journal, so some students should not dwell on this. The key is to improve the quality!

Furthermore, authors are reminded to choose the correct section and not select "all other topics." The acceptance rate for initial submissions in this category is extremely low, and the rejection rate is very high!

Let's all work together to improve the publication quality of Optik. Hopefully, the reforms in the past two years can elevate the Impact Factor to 3.

I think the development of the journal has been very good in the past two years. Just by looking at the Impact Factor (IF), you can tell that the journal has put in a lot of effort, and it is estimated that it can continue to improve. Two papers I submitted in the first half of 2021 were directly rejected, but I accepted it and finally published them in OC and a smaller OE. The latest paper was accepted by a high-impact journal, Big OE. I submitted it to OPTIK again recently, and it took 2 days for the review process. It took about two weeks to receive the revisions, and I submitted them on the same day. The acceptance was also on the same day. The efficiency was very high, and the publication was also very fast. Within a few days, I received the journal number online. I saw someone saying that OPTIK was imitating OPTICA, so I checked it out. OPTIK was established in the last century. Although OPTICA is a top-tier journal in Zone 1, we should be realistic.
Personally, I recommend submitting manuscripts to OPTIK.
