Aims and Scope
The Microchemical Journal is a peer reviewed journal devoted to all aspects and phases of analytical chemistry and chemical analysis. The Microchemical Journal publishes articles which are at the forefront of modern analytical chemistry and cover innovations in the techniques to the finest possible limits. This includes fundamental aspects, instrumentation, new developments, innovative and novel methods and applications including environmental and clinical field.

Traditional classical analytical methods such as spectrophotometry and titrimetry as well as established instrumentation methods such as flame and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry, gas chromatography, and modified glassy or carbon electrode electrochemical methods will be considered, provided they show significant improvements and novelty compared to the established methods.

Experience of Submission:
2022.4.27 Submitted to MJ.
2022.5.23 First major revision given, with two months' time and two reviewers. The first reviewer raised 40 questions, including both major and minor issues, while the second reviewer raised 8 questions.
2022.7.20 Revised the manuscript, but due to other matters, I only managed to submit it by the deadline, wasting a lot of time.
2022.8.17 Second major revision given, the first reviewer agreed to accept it, but the second reviewer found 4 tricky questions.
2022.9.19 Waiting for the revisions to be returned.
2022.10.10 The editor made a funny mistake and sent the revised draft back to the first reviewer, who agreed to accept it again. However, the first reviewer unexpectedly raised 1 small issue, requiring a minor revision, which was frustrating!
2022.10.20 Third revision of the manuscript sent back, waiting again.
2022.10.24 Directly accepted! It took nearly half a year!
In summary, the review speed of MJ journal is still quite fast, and its impact factor is steadily increasing. However, the reviewers sometimes get stuck on one issue. The editor is diligent and responsible. This is the first time I have encountered a manuscript that required three revisions in my life. Other articles I have submitted were accepted after only one revision! I hope the journal continues to improve!
2022-10-26
Reviewed 5 articles, accepted 1. Generally speaking, the speed varies, but the process is still strict. The articles I reviewed were all from other countries. In terms of work level, MJ cannot compare to ACA and TALANTA, which have scores above 5. The impact factor has been hovering around 3 for a long time, but it should increase significantly this year. The current instant impact factor is 4.697 (as of April 1, 2021), gradually approaching the second tier journals in the field of analysis. Additionally, with the upgrade of the Chinese Academy of Sciences division, it is now in the chemistry 2nd tier. The acceptance rate for submissions is approximately 30%, making it a cost-effective option. It is estimated that it will surpass 5 in the next few years. Regarding the 1 accepted article, the process is as follows: Rejected by ACA, advised to submit to Talanta, received by MJ on November 9, 2019 (Successfully received the submission), under review on November 16, 2019, two changes in the under review dates in between, minor revision on February 19, 2021 (only one reviewer's opinion), revision submitted to the journal on March 1, 2021, accepted on March 2, 2021, available online on March 10, 2021, final version on March 21, 2021. The entire process took 4 months, mainly delayed by finding reviewers.
