More studies conducted, as well as looking into a variety of other graduate programs, would be interesting to see. It's disheartening to see a weight bias may exist for applicants.

Ph.D. students should take the opportunity to learn marketable skills, especially if the university provides them! From what I've heard so far, seems like universities do provide such workshops/opportunities.
Glad to hear it took less than a year for a university-wide policy enhancement for childbirth policies! Definitely something that should be in place for graduate students planning to start a family while in graduate school!
I agree that "Dropping the GRE 'just seems like a no-brainer,'" especially in programs where it was an option. I do not believe the GRE tells much about an applicant. It's also very expensive!
