I think it is incredibly important for graduate programs and universities to introduce PhD students to other career avenues besides academia. It appears many in the U.S, are by inviting guest speakers from science policy, industry or government which is fantastic!

Completely agree there are socioeconomic hurdles immigrants, and children of immigrants face when obtaining vision care. Insurance and costs are major issues.
Are there health concerns about wearing scrubs out of the clinical setting? Especially since there are reports that scrubs can be contaminated with pathogenic bacteria?
Do other hospitals have similar, stricter, or looser dress codes? And also, are they in place to address patient concerns with distinguishing different members of hospital staff?
