Summary: The study found that home availability of 100% fruit juice had the strongest cross-sectional association with children's corresponding intake, and parental role modeling of fruit intake was also related to children's fruit intake. Improving positive food parenting practices was associated with better compliance with healthy food recommendations, while reducing negative food parenting practices was associated with better compliance with energy-dense/nutrient-poor food recommendations.

Summary: This study found that nearly half of pregnant women in Muntinlupa had low dietary diversity and lacked intake of beans, soybean products, and nuts. The research indicates that poor maternal knowledge of nutritional sources to prevent anemia and infrequent meal consumption are significantly associated with poor dietary diversity.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the association between temporal changes in diet quality and concurrent changes in dietary intake, BMI, and physical activity. The study found that diet quality changes were positively associated with intake of energy, protein, dietary fiber, vitamins A and C, and negatively associated with BMI and intake of added sugar, saturated fats, sodium, meat, and sugar and confectioneries. Furthermore, there were differences in these relationships across different diet quality trajectory groups, and sedentary behavior was inversely related to diet quality trajectory.

Summary: A comprehensive food policy, including front-of-package warning labels and food advertisement bans, was implemented in Chile from 2016 to 2019. This study assessed changes in child and adolescent intake of key nutrients at school after the implementation of the policy. The study found that intake of most key nutrients significantly declined at school, but compensatory behavior was observed in out-of-school settings.

Summary: This study in Taiwan found that food insecurity among children and adolescents from economically disadvantaged families was associated with lower dietary quality and a higher frequency of unfavorable food consumption, such as fried food and sugar-sweetened beverages. Adolescents who reported food insecurity and financial constraints also had a higher likelihood of poor dietary diversity. Recommendations were made for health policies to include nutrition education to improve the dietary quality of vulnerable children and adolescents.

Summary: Dietary fiber is important for health, and a validated tool for assessing food consumption related to high-fiber foods can help quantify the intake of fiber, identify risk groups and target populations, and inform the development of health policies and programs. In this study, a fiber intake short food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) was translated into Spanish, validated by experts, and tested on 198 Chilean adults. The FFQ showed a high validity coefficient of 0.98 and revealed that the mean dietary fiber intake in Chilean adults was similar to the national survey data.

Summary: This study investigated the nutritional status, dietary intake, and dietary diversity of waste pickers in South Africa. The findings revealed that waste pickers had poor nutritional status with monotonous starch-based diets lacking vegetables and fruits. These results reflect their precarious economic status and highlight the need to improve access and affordability of nutritious food.

Summary: This study compared acrylamide intake measurements obtained from haemoglobin adduct levels and self-registered dietary consumption data. The results showed good agreement between the two methods and were consistent with previous dietary estimates in the Norwegian population. The Margin of Exposure indicated a possible health risk concern from dietary acrylamide.

Summary: This article reviews recent research on 3D food printing, including improving food ink printing performance through different protein sources, using high internal phase emulsion or oleogels as fat replacements and nutrition delivery systems, and incorporating functional active ingredients. It discusses the importance of 3D food printing for improving appetite and dietary intake in the elderly, while also addressing critical obstacles such as energy supplements, nutrition balance, and recipe customization. By combining big data and artificial intelligence technology, personalized and customized geriatric foods based on individual traits can be achieved. This article provides a theoretical basis and development direction for future 3D food printing for the elderly.

Summary: This study assessed the Japanese diet by comparing it with the global reference diet from the EAT-Lancet Commission. The results showed that the intake of most food groups exceeded the reference, with red meat being the highest. However, the protein intake did not greatly exceed the recommended dietary intake for Japanese people. Policy makers should focus on developing sustainable and healthy dietary guidelines and creating a food environment that supports dietary change.

Summary: The study found that individuals carrying the APOE e4 allele experienced faster cognitive decline, while high DDPI and daily fish intake were associated with slower cognitive decline. Additionally, frequent fish intake was more beneficial in mitigating cognitive decline among APOE e4 allele carriers, especially for women.
