Aims and Scope
The Journal of Ethnopharmacology is dedicated to the exchange of information and understandings about people's use of plants, fungi, animals, microorganisms and minerals and their biological and pharmacological effects based on the principles established through international conventions. Early people confronted with illness and disease, discovered a wealth of useful therapeutic agents in the plant and animal kingdoms. The empirical knowledge of these medicinal substances and their toxic potential was passed on by oral tradition and sometimes recorded in herbals and other texts on materia medica. Many valuable drugs of today (e.g., atropine, ephedrine, tubocurarine, digoxin, reserpine) came into use through the study of indigenous remedies. Chemists continue to use plant-derived drugs (e.g., morphine, taxol, physostigmine, quinidine, emetine) as prototypes in their attempts to develop more effective and less toxic medicinals.

Finally, it's time for me to share my experience of submitting my manuscript. Because this is my first article during my master's stage, and it is also a review article, it was not easy to come by, and the process was a bit challenging. I hope it can be helpful to everyone. The experience is as follows:

October 30, 2020: Submission
November 27, 2020: Article assigned a reference number
December 24, 2020: First round of revisions
March 16, 2021: Second round of revisions
May 8, 2021: Third round of revisions
May 24, 2021: Fourth round of revisions
May 29, 2021: Fifth round of revisions
June 1, 2021: Acceptance

It took 8 months. It was not easy, and the article was truly improved through revisions. I am very grateful to the editor-in-chief and the reviewers for giving me this opportunity. Thank you!

JE Submission: I did not request for a reminder. Around the 10th day after submission, the status changed to "with editor," but two days later, it was directly rejected for not meeting the journal's standards. I then supplemented the data on the mechanism and resubmitted the article. Before it reached the editor-in-chief, the editorial department sent it back four times, mainly due to concerns about the traditional usage. However, each time it was sent back and resubmitted, the processing was quite fast, taking approximately 2-3 days each time. Finally, it is "with editor" again. It has been the 4th day in this "with editor" status, and I don't know if it will be sent for review... In any case, it feels like this journal has many issues and the speed is not fast...
