Aims and Scope

The European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry is a global journal that publishes studies on all aspects of medicinal chemistry. It provides a medium for publication of original papers and also welcomes critical review papers.

A typical paper would report on the organic synthesis, characterization and pharmacological evaluation of compounds. Other topics of interest are drug design, QSAR, molecular modeling, drug-receptor interactions, molecular aspects of drug metabolism, prodrug synthesis and drug targeting. The journal expects manuscripts to present the rational for a study, provide insight into the design of compounds or understanding of mechanism, or clarify the targets.

Summary article submitted in early June, got a response within three days but not a direct rejection. The editor provided suggestions for modifications and gave a month to integrate the content. At the end of the month, it was resubmitted and placed under review. However, it took a long time for the reviewer to be found, resulting in a review period of almost three months. After receiving the reviewer's comments, the editor requested major revisions, and after the modifications were made, the article was accepted directly.

I submitted the article at the beginning of August, and by the end of August, I received feedback for revision from the first review. The review process was quick, and both the editor and the reviewer were very nice, suggesting only minor revisions. After submitting the revised version in early September, I received acceptance notification within about a week. Overall, the process went smoothly, and this journal's influence in the field of pharmacy is increasing. I hope it continues to improve.
