After submitting, it took about two weeks and a little more to receive the first review comments. After making revisions, it took about a week to submit again (R1). Later, there were two more rounds of formatting changes (R2, R3), and finally, it took a total of two months from the first submission to acceptance.

The journal has very strict requirements for formatting, especially for the coordinates, fonts, symbols, formulas, and references in the images. It is recommended to make the necessary modifications according to the journal's requirements during R1, which will expedite the acceptance process. Don't be like me, having to completely revise the formatting during R2 and R3.

Domestic journals are steadily improving and can be considered as an investment. After all, their impact factor and competitiveness are not very strong yet, but hopefully they will improve in the future. After all, this journal is the highest in the field of chemical engineering in China.

Of course, it would be great to be able to publish in a prestigious journal, but unfortunately, my research topic belongs to an interdisciplinary field, and the intersection is not very strong. That's just how it is, and I don't have any specific requirements. Hahaha.

This article is about composite materials. Initially, I was very confident that the data was innovative and comprehensive, and I aimed to submit it to a first-tier journal. However, I faced continuous rejections since the manuscript was completed in April 2020. Finally, it was accepted by the Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering this year, which made me very happy. Moreover, this journal has been upgraded to a second-tier, while the journals that rejected my paper have been downgraded to a third-tier. It can be considered as good luck. The review process was fast, and the questions were not difficult to answer. However, the journal had strict formatting requirements. I had to make two revisions for formatting issues. The figures and tables needed to meet the requirements of Chinese core journals (possibly similar to other domestic journals). If you plan to submit to this journal, please pay attention to the formatting requirements.
