Summary: Our study found that Nrf2 transcriptional activity is crucial for maintaining the proper large intestinal structure in adult mice. We investigated whether Nrf2-related intestine abnormalities originated from the early weaning or gestational periods. Our results showed that the alterations in intestinal structure were present as early as day 14.5 of embryonic development, independent of sex. We suspect that disturbed intestinal cell proliferation and altered differentiation contribute to the intestine abnormalities in mice lacking Nrf2 transcriptional activity.

Summary: This study explores the mechanism of the response of the cAMP-PKA pathway to heat shock and thermal adaptation in yeast. The results demonstrate that heat shock leads to the assembly of TPK1 mRNA in cytoplasmic foci, and the protein level of Tpk1 significantly increases during the recovery period. The expression of TPK1 upon heat shock is dependent on the Wsc3 sensor and the CWI signaling pathway. This study reveals the specificity regulation of cAMP-PKA signaling by thermal stress.

Summary: Loss-of-function mutations in APC contribute to malignant progression of colorectal polyps, while the absence of Cdx2 is associated with more aggressive subtypes of colorectal cancer. Simultaneous loss of Cdx1 and Cdx2 in mice leads to an increase in intestinal polyps. In SW480 colorectal cancer cells, loss of Cdx2 affects the Notch signaling pathway and results in EphrinB1 loss, potentially influencing colorectal cancer through a Notch-dependent mechanism.
