Online product reviews are important determinants of consumers' purchase decision. Although prior research has articulated various benefits of online product reviews, there are few investigations into whether or not they are perceived as helpful by consumers. Product review helpfulness is conceptualized as a second-order formative construct, which is manifested by perceived source credibility, perceived content diagnosticity, and perceived vicarious expression of the product review. In this study, we conduct a laboratory experiment to investigate product review helpfulness as well as its corresponding antecedents from the product review feature perspective (i.e., source-and content-based review features). Findings from the study are threefold. First, the results of the data analysis support the theoretical conceptualization of product review helpfulness as a formative construct. Second, the results support the notion that the source-and content-based review features have direct impact on product review helpfulness. Consumers perceive customer-written product reviews as more helpful than those written by experts; they also perceive a concrete review as more helpful than an abstract review. Third, we find an interaction effect of the source-and content-based features of product reviews on review helpfulness. A customer-written product review with a low level of content abstractness yields the highest perceived review helpfulness.

Negating Li+ transfer barrier at solid-liquid electrolyte interface in hybrid batteries

Liqiang Huang, Haoyu Fu, Jian Duan, Tengrui Wang, Xueying Zheng, Yangyang Huang, Tong Zhao, Qian Yu, Jiayun Wen, Yuwei Chen, Dan Sun, Wei Luo, Yunhui Huang

Summary: Solid-state batteries offer higher energy density and safety compared to traditional Li-ion batteries, but the usage of ceramic-based solid-state electrolytes (CSSEs) increases the interfacial resistance. This study demonstrates a breakthrough in stabilizing the LE-CSSE interface by using nanometer-scale self-assembled monolayers (SAMs), achieving unprecedented impedance approaching zero.

Beyond the review information: an investigation of individual- and group-based presentation forms of review information

Wanshu Niu, Liqiang Huang, Xixi Li, Jie Zhang, Mingliang Chen

Summary: This study investigates the influences of individual-based and group-based presentation forms of review information on consumer evaluation and adoption of reviews. The findings suggest that consumers presented with grouped review information rate higher review quality and credibility, but lower understandability. The mediating role of review quality, credibility, and understandability in the influence of review presentation forms on consumer adoption of review information is also discussed.

Achieving improved stability and minimal non-radiative recombination loss for over 18% binary organic photovoltaics via versatile interfacial regulation strategy

Lifu Zhang, Houdong Mao, Liqiang Huang, Lei Hu, Xinkang Wang, Licheng Tan, Yiwang Chen

Summary: Interfacial regulation plays a critical role in the fabrication of stable and efficient organic photovoltaics. In this study, a multifunctional cathode interlayer PDINO was prepared and inserted between active components and a silver electrode. The PDINO interlayer effectively aligned the work function, maintained good interfacial contact, and improved device stability. The optimized device achieved an impressive power conversion efficiency of 17.48% and maintained 91% of the original efficiency after aging. The PDINO interlayer also showed good compatibility with large-area OPV fabrication processes. This work highlights the potential of interfacial regulation to stabilize and enhance the efficiency of organic photovoltaics.

Toward High Temperature Sodium Metal Batteries via Regulating the Electrolyte/ Electrode Interfacial Chemistries

Xueying Zheng, Zhang Cao, Zhenyi Gu, Liqiang Huang, Zhonghui Sun, Tong Zhao, Sijie Yu, Xing-Long Wu, Wei Luo, Yunhui Huang

Summary: This study addresses the challenges of dendrite growth in rechargeable batteries based on sodium metal anodes at high temperatures. By formulating a thermally stable electrolyte, the researchers were able to regulate the electrode/electrolyte interface chemistry and protect against solvent attacks. The results demonstrate a high capacity retention and long cycle life for the batteries at elevated temperatures.

Direct recycling of shorted solid-state electrolytes enabled by targeted recovery

Tengrui Wang, Zhengyou Song, Yini Zhang, Yanli Gao, Liqiang Huang, Sijie Lin, Wei Luo

Summary: This study provides a targeted recovery strategy for recycling short-circuited garnet-type solid-state batteries by investigating the reaction between garnet grains and dendritic lithium. The results show that annealing at a high temperature can rapidly recover the shorted garnets and restore their electrochemical properties, significantly extending their lifespans. Economic and environmental analysis demonstrates the advantages of this targeted recovery strategy in terms of reducing fabrication time, energy consumption, and production costs.

Nanoimprint Lithography-Dependent Vertical Composition Gradient in Pseudo-Planar Heterojunction Organic Solar Cells Combined with Sequential Deposition

Houdong Mao, Lifu Zhang, Lin Wen, Liqiang Huang, Licheng Tan, Yiwang Chen

Summary: In this study, nanoimprint lithography (NIL) combined with donor/acceptor sequential deposition (SD) dual-functionalized regulation strategy was used to fabricate high-performance pseudo-planar heterojunction (PPHJ) organic solar cells (OSCs). The PM6 donor with regular periodic nanograting structure and improved crystallinity was obtained via NIL, effectively avoiding erosion problems caused by subsequent deposition of the Y6 acceptor. Finite-different time-domain (FDTD) measurement confirmed the vertical composition gradient of the donor/acceptor and showed strong regular light absorption and reduced voltage loss. The best-imprinted device achieved a power conversion efficiency of 17.36%, higher than the control SD-based device (15.46%).

Information technology in open innovation: A resource orchestration perspective

Tingru Cui, Jonathan Hua Ye, Chuan Hoo Tan

Summary: Building on the resource orchestration view, this study proposes a dual role of information technology (IT) – IT-enabled resource acquisition (IRA) and IT-enabled resource operation (IRO) – in determining innovation performance. The findings suggest that in a dynamic business environment, IRA helps organizations benefit from their open innovation strategies, while in a less dynamic environment, IRO enhances the impact of these strategies on innovation performance.

Study on the storage time of a cold box based on conduction-convection-radiation coupling

Zhiqiang Fu, Haozhe Liu, Liqiang Huang, Guipeng Zhang, Tong Zhao, Zhongjian Zhao

Summary: In this study, a theoretical model was proposed to calculate the storage time of a cold box. The model was verified using experimental and numerical results, and the influences of refrigerant position and cold box thickness on the storage time were analyzed. The results showed that the theoretical model could replace numerical simulation and reduce time, and the optimal thickness of the cold box was independent of other factors.
