Aims and Scope
Advanced Healthcare Materials was first published as a special focus section in Advanced Materials in 2011 and launched as an independent journal in 2012. Advanced Healthcare Materials, which is listed in three ISI categories (Materials Science - Biomaterials, Engineering - Biomedical, and Nanoscience & Nanotechnology), received an impact factor of 6.270 in 2019 (source: Journal Citation Reports (Web of Science Group, 2019)).

Advanced Healthcare Materials is an international, interdisciplinary forum for peer-reviewed papers on high-impact materials, devices, and technologies for improving human health including:

Biomaterials, including nanomaterials, hydrogels, 2D materials, biopolymers, composites, biohybrids, biomimetics, as well as inorganic materials for biomedical applications.
Biointerfaces, such as antimicrobial surfaces and coatings, mechanobiology and biocompatibility studies, interfaces for cell engineering and stem cell differentiation, 3D cell culture, and immunoengineering.
Nanomedicine and nanotechnology with applications in drug delivery, imaging, theranostics, gene therapy, and immunotherapy, and for therapy of infectious diseases, cancer, metabolic diseases, and cardiovascular diseases, as well as for vaccines and precision medicine.
Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine including scaffolds and scaffold-free approaches. For example, for bone, ligament, and muscle tissue engineering; skin regeneration and wound healing; nerve grafts; cardiac patches; and tissue vascularization.
Biofabrication including (bio)inks and technologies, toward generation of functional tissues and organs.
Devices for healthcare applications, such as diagnostics, wearables, implantable devices, microfluidics, BioMEMS, organs-on-a-chip and lab-on-a-chip, bioelectronics, biosensors, actuators, and soft robotics.

Verified Reviews
Note: Verified reviews are sourced from across review platforms and social media globally.
In January, I submitted my paper to AFM and it was reviewed by two reviewers, one positive and one negative. They rejected it and suggested that I submit it to AHM. In an email, they explicitly stated that there was no need for a new peer review and that I should just respond to the comments from the AFM reviewers. They mentioned that AHM would then send the paper back to the original reviewers for a second review. It took me about a month to reply to the comments from both reviewers, and my response was about 6,000 words long. Unfortunately, I was deceived because in February, when I transferred the paper to AHM, I had to find three new reviewers. It took approximately two months for them to provide new feedback. None of the reviewers from AFM had actually read the comments. I was frustrated by this situation. Fortunately, the second review process was relatively quick, and my paper was accepted within 14 days. However, there was a delay of one week due to the need to supplement an agreement regarding experiments. I want to acknowledge that Dr. Flóra Kiss, the Editor, was very prompt in handling the manuscript. She returned it the next day after I sent it back.

2022.12.05 with editor
2022.12.06 under review
2022.12.26 required reviews completed
2023.01.02 transfer offer (AHM), three reviewers given one week to decide whether to transfer, one month to make revisions.
2023.01.05 agree to transfer
2023.01.16 submitted
2023.01.18 under review
2023.02.08 major revision, same reviewers as before, need to conduct a small experiment as additional material.
2023.02.09 submitted
2023.02.17 accept
This is the third submission to SCI, the transfer process went relatively smoothly, taking less than three months in total. Finally, I wish everyone success in publishing.
