Annals of Biomedical Engineering is an official journal of the Biomedical Engineering Society, publishing original articles in the major fields of bioengineering and biomedical engineering. It's quite difficult to answer your question. Based on my submission experience, it completely depends on whether your article topic is unpopular and whether the reviewers are slow or not. I feel that this journal editor is not very slow, and luckily I received a response within a month. However, I also know some people who received the first review results after 3 or 4 months.

After submission, you can check the status on Research Square. The status is slightly different from the submission system, but the editorial handling of the manuscript is quite fast.
