Aims and Scope
One of the most important challenges facing the contemporary scientific world are problems connected with environmental protection. Intensive development of industry and agriculture has led to a rise in living standards on one hand, but an increase in environmental degradation on the other. This degradation poses a direct threat to human health and life. Solving these ever-increasing problems which seriously endanger our civilization require the united efforts of scientists and field researchers of many branches.
The "Polish Journal of Environmental Studies" publishes original papers and critical reviews on the following subjects:
-Basic and applied environmental pollution research, including environmental engineering
-Pollution control of atmospheric, water (marine and fresh), soil and biological materials
-Determination of harmful substances, including their metabolic breakdown patterns
-Analytical methods for metabolic breakdown patterns or other chemical degradation patterns in the environment and in biological samples
-Development of new analytical methods, instruments and techniques for controlling pollutants
-Circulation of pollutants in the environment and their effect on living organisms
-Environmentally oriented catalysis
-Hazards to human health and safety
-Waste utilization and management
-Land reclamation
-Conference reports, scientific and technical reports and book reviews

Verified Reviews
It seems that there was a change in the editor at the beginning of the year, which resulted in a slower review process and stricter criteria. Previously, there were always two reviewers, but now there are three. There is a publication fee of 33 euros per page, with each figure or table counted as one page. However, considering the overall price, it is similar to the core journals in China, so there is nothing much to complain about. After all, most open-access journals in China start at a fee of 10,000 RMB.
Overall, it is not considered a top-tier journal, but it is also not low-quality. It is a relatively average journal in the field of environmental science. Many of the PhD students from our institute (a certain institute in the CAS geography department) submit their papers to this journal frequently.

As long as the manuscript and reference formatting are adjusted according to the journal requirements, the overall speed is very fast. The first two submissions were sent for review in about a week. It took only a little over two months in total. The journal editors work on weekends and the chief editor is also responsible.
