Aims and Scope
Mechanics of Materials is a forum for original scientific research on the flow, fracture, and general constitutive behavior of geophysical, geotechnical and technological materials, with balanced coverage of advanced technological and natural materials, with balanced coverage of theoretical, experimental, and field investigations. Of special concern are macroscopic predictions based on microscopic models, identification of microscopic structures from limited overall macroscopic data, experimental and field results that lead to fundamental understanding of the behavior of materials, and coordinated experimental and analytical investigations that culminate in theories with predictive quality.

Posted on Jan. 16, 2021, the manuscript was processed for about a week. On Mar. 28, 2021, a rejection letter was received. Two reviewers provided around ten comments, mainly focusing on the mechanical model. Overall, it appears that the reviewers are scholars with a deep research background in mechanics. The author believed that some of the comments were due to misunderstandings by the reviewers and wrote a 10-page rebuttal letter. On Apr. 20, 2021, the manuscript was resubmitted, but it was rejected again on Apr. 26, 2021. According to the journal's requirements, the paper will not be reconsidered for resubmission after rejection. The Editor-in-Chief (EiC) for the initial rejection was Jean-Francois Molinari, and for the second rejection, it was Ghatu Subhash.

An article on a viscoelastic mechanical model has been under review in the Journal of Rheology for 8 months. The copyright transfer was completed during the process, but it was rejected in the end. Then, I submitted it to another journal and received the first round of review in 40 days, with only minor revisions required. The reviewer mentioned that the article contains valuable content for the field of material mechanics, and the editor stated that our contribution is highly valued in material mechanics journals. Currently, it has been 15 days since the second round of review started. I hope it gets accepted as I have already been a master's graduate for a year. Feeling exhausted.
