Aims and Scope
Scripta Materialia is a LETTERS journal of Acta Materialia, providing a forum for the rapid publication of short communications on the relationship between the structure and the properties of inorganic materials. The emphasis is on originality rather than incremental research. Short reports on the development of materials with novel or substantially improved properties are also welcomed. Emphasis is on either the functional or mechanical behavior of metals, ceramics and semiconductors at all length scales.

Does JMST reduce the number of submissions to improve impact factor? Are you a researcher? Don't you know that drawing a conclusion requires evidence to support it? Do you just make conclusions without any basis? Let me list the number of submissions to JMST over the years for you:

2022 (284)
2021 (913)
2020 (575)
2019 (376)
2018 (300)
2017 (217)
2016 (189)
2015 (181)

Which year has reduced the number of publications to improve the impact factor? Why are you so eager to worship foreign journals and denigrate domestic ones? JMST is indeed not as good as ACTA now, but can you be sure it will always be inferior in the future? Before 2010, MMTA was on par with ACTA, what about now? If Scripta continues to be inactive and does not take measures (like reducing the number of publications as you mentioned), then it will become the next MMTA. If Scripta's impact factor drops to 3 and it is classified as a fourth-tier journal by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, similar to the current MMTA, will you still support it?

Please respect domestic journals.

This is my first submission to Scripta Materialia and also my first time writing a letter format article. I am very happy that it was accepted right away. I would like to thank Editor Prof. David Rodney for handling the manuscript without any delay and with high efficiency. The two reviewers did not raise any issues with the content of the article, but mainly asked other questions they were concerned about. It is important to take the reviewers' comments seriously and respond to each question sincerely and earnestly. I hope everyone starts the year off well. Let's keep up the good work!
