Aims and Scope
This journal is concerned with original research, new developments, site measurements and case studies in rock mechanics and rock engineering. It provides an international forum for the publication of high quality papers on the subject of rock mechanics and the application of rock mechanics principles and techniques to mining and civil engineering projects built on or in rock masses. These projects include slopes, open-pit mines, quarries, shafts, tunnels, caverns, underground mines, metro systems, dams and hydro-electric stations, geothermal energy, petroleum engineering, and radioactive waste disposal. Papers are welcomed on all relevant topics and especially on theoretical developments, analytical methods, numerical methods, rock testing, site investigation, and case studies.

After more than a year of waiting, with several reminders in between, I am very happy to have been accepted by the best journal in rock mechanics. It has an impact factor of 7.1, but the review process is extremely slow. It is normal for "with editor" to take more than three months, and it is also very normal for the review process to exceed a year. I will never dare to submit again, haha. It is the number one journal in geology and mining. I hope it will be included in the top tier of the Chinese Academy of Sciences this year.

Paper on the mechanism of deep rock burst, submitted in December 2020, revised in July 2021, and accepted in October 2021. It took exactly 10 months from submission to acceptance, as long as pregnancy and childbirth. IJRMMS, ranked number 1 in the field of rock mechanics and mining, now has a high impact factor of 7.1, which means the review process is stricter and slower, but it is acceptable. During this period, I logged in every day to check if there were any updates on the manuscript status. There were many anxious moments, but when I received the acceptance notification, all the efforts and waiting were worth it.
