Aims and Scope
Global Biogeochemical Cycles (GBC) features research on regional to global biogeochemical interactions, as well as more local studies that demonstrate fundamental implications for biogeochemical processing at regional or global scales. Published papers draw on a wide array of methods and knowledge and extend in time from the deep geologic past to recent historical and potential future interactions. This broad scope includes studies that elucidate human activities as interactive components of biogeochemical cycles and physical Earth Systems including climate. Authors are required to make their work accessible to a broad interdisciplinary range of scientists.

Verified Reviews
Note: Verified reviews are sourced from across review platforms and social media globally.
AUG's top journal in the field of biogeochemistry, with a relatively low annual publication rate, but each article is of high quality and consistently classified as a top-tier journal. According to the statistics from AGU, the median time for the first review is 90 days. The article review process is very strict, but the review process is extremely slow. In most cases, articles need to go through two rounds of major revisions, with an average duration of over one year. In the past two years, a total of three articles have been submitted to this journal. Here is the submission timeline:

First article: Submitted in August 2019, received major revisions in November 2019; revised and resubmitted in May 2020, received second round of major revisions in August 2020; returned for revisions in October 2020, accepted in January 2021.

Second article: Submitted in January 2021, received major revisions in May 2021; returned for revisions in August 2021, received review feedback in November 2021; currently in the process of major revisions, expected to be returned in December 2021.

Third article: Submitted in July 2021, received minor revisions in November 2021; returned for revisions in December 2021; accepted.
