Aims and Scope

AEÜ is an international scientific journal which publishes both original works and invited tutorials. The journal's scope covers all aspects of theory and design of circuits, systems and devices for electronics, signal processing, and communication, including:

signal and system theory, digital signal processing
network theory and circuit design
information theory, communication theory and techniques, modulation, source and channel coding
switching theory and techniques, communication protocols
optical communications
microwave theory and techniques, radar, sonar
antennas, wave propagation
AEÜ publishes full papers and letters with very short turn around time but a high standard review process. Review cycles are typically finished within twelve weeks by application of modern electronic communication facilities.

I have submitted four articles. The role of the editor is significant as they directly decide whether to send the article for review. Out of the four articles, one has not been sent for review, two have been accepted, and one has been rejected. We felt that the rejected article was still decent, but the reviewer's opinion was not favorable. The review process is relatively fast, and we can expect to receive feedback within two months at the latest. The journal's impact is not particularly high, even though it is classified as a second-tier journal. It is not comparable to well-established second-tier journals like IEEE. The impact factor has shown some improvement in recent years, but self-citations are not low. Perhaps the electronic community is too small.

Overall, AEU feels relatively friendly towards contributors. Even though there were some minor issues during the first submission, it was still sent for review by the editor. Two months later, a notice was given for major revisions.
There were four reviewers who provided a total of 25 comments.
After replying to each comment and making the necessary modifications, the revised version was submitted one month later.
After ten more days, a notification was received that the submission was accepted.
