March 29, 2021, submitted, and became "under review" after two to three days;
May 13, 2021, first review returned, with two reviewers. The first reviewer mentioned the combination of theory and practice, mutual verification, and clearly accepted the paper. The second reviewer stated that the conclusion was well-known and explicitly rejected it. The editor gave the opportunity to decide on major revisions;
June 10, 2021, after a month of major revisions, the revised paper was resubmitted and became "under review" again after two to three days. The emphasis was mainly on the application and research background in the Introduction and response sections. The response section also included comparisons with other literature to explain the research significance, resulting in more pages than the original article;
June 24, 2021, directly accepted, and both second reviewers' comments were positive;
The process took nearly three months, which is consistent with the average speed. This journal values comprehensive research, detailed theoretical and experimental studies, and articles with a certain research background are relatively easier to be accepted. Note: Submission requires an institutional email address. After submission, the paper went through several suspended states, and it was only through email communication that it was discovered that a non-institutional email was used.

I submitted twice this year, one rejection and one acceptance.

Compared to my classmates who submitted to JLT before, the processing speed of my two submissions this year has significantly improved. The first rejection received reviewer comments within half a month. The second submission received minor revision comments after about a month, and the entire process from submission to acceptance took around 40 days.

In my opinion, the quality of papers in the JLT journal is stronger than in OE, and the review requirements are higher than in OE. Previously, the review process for JLT was longer and much slower than OE. However, this year, this disadvantage has been greatly improved. At least in terms of my personal experience, the processing time for my two submissions is no longer slower than OE. The journal is also friendly as it does not charge any fees.

Currently, the impact factor is 4.439.
