Aims and Scope
Cold Regions Science and Technology is an international journal dealing with the science and technical problems of cold environments in both the polar regions and more temperate locations. It includes fundamental aspects of cryospheric sciences which have applications for cold regions problems as well as engineering topics which relate to the cryosphere.

Emphasis is given to applied science with broad coverage of the physical and mechanical aspects of ice (including glaciers and sea ice), snow and snow avalanches, ice-water systems, ice-bonded soils and permafrost.

Relevant aspects of Earth science, materials science, offshore and river ice engineering are also of primary interest. These include icing of ships and structures as well as trafficability in cold environments. Technological advances for cold regions in research, development, and engineering practice are relevant to the journal. Theoretical papers must include a detailed discussion of the potential application of the theory to address cold regions problems. The journal serves a wide range of specialists, providing a medium for interdisciplinary communication and a convenient source of reference.

The first submission raised many detailed and professional questions that were not previously considered in the paper. The response was nearly 30 pages long and addressed many sharp questions, which were not easy to answer. Thankfully, there were enough references to support the response, and it was considered satisfactory. The second submission also raised several detailed questions, and the response was over 10 pages long. It feels like the two responses are more exciting than the main body of the paper.

Submitted in early May, it took more than 20 days to be reviewed by the editor. It underwent major revisions at the end of July, and was revised again at the beginning of September. Minor revisions were made in mid-September, and it was accepted at the end of the month. The editing process started off a bit slow, but luckily I was patient enough to wait. Overall, the editing was good, except for a few reviewers who kept nitpicking. Fortunately, the editor remained objective and fair, disregarding the meaningless review comments. The acceptance was smooth~ The submission experience was decent.
