Registration for this year's PhD Day will take place online on February 16, from 13:00 to 16:30 CET, under the theme 'Navigating Productivity in Research'. Registration is open until the end of the week. However, as we are nearing our registration capacity, we wanted to invite you once more to participate in the event and register as soon as possible. This will also be the first event of the PhD Academy in this calendar year, and we plan to dedicate some time at the beginning to provide information about the program.

The British Council is launching our global Women in STEM scholarship programme in partnership with UK universities. This is the fourth year that the scholarship has been launched. We are looking for women with a STEM background who can demonstrate their need for financial support and who wish to inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in STEM.
They are looking for women who:
- can take up a course of study in the UK for the academic year from September/October 2024–2025.
- can demonstrate a need for financial support.
- have an undergraduate degree that will enable them to gain access to one of the pre-selected postgraduate courses at a UK university (for master’s level).
- can attain the level of English required for postgraduate study at a UK university.
- are active in the field with work experience or a proven interest in their subject area.

The study's goal is to introduce the institution to VR models and assess their usefulness and usability. This study, conducted specifically for the computer engineering department, can be employed to promote the university's main attractions. This article added to and clarified the existing literature on the digitization of learning and teaching approaches. It stresses the role of lecturers and students in implementing digital learning and teaching approaches. The issues outlined in this essay cannot be ignored, and the COVID-19 pandemic has surely impacted learning and teaching techniques in Higher Education around the world. People's historical data representation determines how visible they are to AI. When it comes to identifying people who are members of underrepresented groups in the training data, AI struggles.
Because historically underrepresented groups are not linked to particular jobs, they run the danger of facing prejudice in AI-assisted hiring processes. This general pattern has significant implications for democracy. For instance, because certain groups are often rendered invisible, their influence would be reduced in any AI-based depiction of the political system and forecasts of its actions, preferences, and grievances.
AI and the FCI: Can ChatGPT Project an Understanding of Introductory Physics?
This study examines the initial performance of two ChatGPT versions (ChatGPT3.5 and ChatGPT4) in first-semester university physics courses. They do this by evaluating their ability to provide accurate answers to conceptual physics questions concerning kinematics and Newtonian dynamics using a modified version of the Force Concept Inventory (FCI). They show that, although ChatGPT3.5's performance is noticeably variable and the results are subtle, it can, by some measures, match or surpass the median performance of a university student who has completed one semester of college physics. Using the same metrics, they discover that ChatGPT4's performance on introductory mechanics topics is nearly identical to that of an expert physicist.

In general, the use of AI is accompanied by speculation about Artificial Intelligence with human
and superhuman abilities. Studying how ideas circulate around AI in higher education helps identify AI tools' potential advantages and threats. Thus, introducing AI tools in higher education complicates the use of education technologies. It is interesting and useful to find out
if all students use AI tools in their studies. Knowing the exact answer will help plan and create new
educational software applications containing AI tools.

Forensics analysis can leverage machine learning models' pattern detection and identification ability to find buried evidence in digital artefacts that would have gone unnoticed if done manually. Numerous studies have proposed methods for integrating AI into digital forensics; nevertheless, scepticism over AI's opacity has hampered the domain's proper formalization and standardization. The authors describe three important tools required for the development of solid machine-driven digital forensics approaches in this research. They discuss several ways to test, standardise, and optimise artificial intelligence models used in digital forensics.
