This review introduces the current situation of oil-contaminated sites, discusses various soil remediation strategies and treatment mechanisms, and summarizes the advantages and limitations of each technology. It highlights the importance of biological and combined remediation technologies for future development under complex pollution conditions of oil-contaminated sites.

Summary: This article provides a systematic assessment and concept review of urban micro hydro systems (UMHS), including their characteristics, challenges, and drivers. Economic feasibility and energy generation reliability are identified as obstacles in developing UMHS, but overlooked opportunities are also recognized. The synergies of UMHS, such as water saving and peak-load shaving, are introduced, and simulation-optimization tools are presented. Future research directions are offered to further explore the role of UMHS in addressing water and energy issues.

This review summarizes the sources and health effects of water pollutants, and demonstrates how biochar promotes the growth of contaminant-degrading microbes and protects them from toxicity. The combined effect of immobilized microbes and biochar in pollutant remediation is highlighted, with challenges and future outlooks for commercialization emphasized.

This study critically reviews the approaches and strategies for resilience assessment in UWI and identifies three key areas for analysing resilience: system design, resilience concepts development, and implementation of green infrastructure. The results highlight the macroeconomic significance of UWI and suggest the need for comprehensive and sustainability-based indicators in future research.

Summary: The damage caused by urban floods has increased significantly worldwide due to unchecked development. The conventional drainage systems are insufficient in handling the increased hydrological response caused by encroachment on natural drainage. Therefore, various approaches that can manage surface runoff in complex environments are being investigated and applied globally. This review discusses recent progress in Green Infrastructure, modelling tools for stormwater management, vulnerability analysis, and flood risk assessment. It also summarizes different ways of addressing the problem through an extensive literature survey and presents barriers and strategies for further improvement. Additionally, a case study of Gurugram city, India is presented to illustrate the challenges of urban flooding and potential solutions based on an expert survey.
