Summary: This study used meta-analysis to evaluate the relationship between noncoding RNAs and the prognosis of bladder cancer. It found that high expression of circ-ZFR, lnc-TUG1, miR-222, and miR-21 were correlated with poor overall survival in bladder cancer. High expression of miR-155 and miR-143 predicted poor progression-free survival, while low expression of lnc-GAS5 predicted poor overall survival, and low expression of miR-214 predicted poor recurrence-free survival.

Summary: The study showed that certain miRNAs in urine could potentially serve as noninvasive biomarkers for diagnosing bladder cancer, with implications for early detection and patient survival. Further validation in larger cohorts is necessary to confirm the clinical utility of urinary miRNAs in bladder cancer diagnosis.

Summary: The study identified miR-93-5p and miR-516a-5p in urinary exosomes as potential biomarkers for bladder cancer detection, showing promising diagnostic value in BC patients. Further validation demonstrated that the expression level of miR-93-5p was associated with the progression of bladder cancer.

Summary: In this study, a microRNA signature was identified to recognize patients at high recurrence risk in stage II colorectal cancer. The validity of these findings has been confirmed in an independent group of stage II microsatellite stable colon adenocarcinoma patients. Most of the microRNAs present in the signature have prognostic relevance in various other cancer types. Some of these microRNAs are involved in pivotal pathways of cancer progression.

Summary: This article investigates the prognostic role of cyclin-dependent kinase 9 expression in urothelial carcinoma. The results show that high CDK9 expression is associated with a better prognosis, tumor grade, stage, and invasiveness, contradicting previous findings. CDK9 may play a crucial role in the early stages of urothelial carcinoma.

Summary: MicroRNA-27a (miR-27a) is abnormally expressed in cancer patients and can serve as a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker. It is a valuable diagnostic biomarker in serum/plasma and can predict poor prognosis in cancer patients. However, its diagnostic value is slightly reduced in tumor tissue samples.

Summary: The study revealed that dysregulated expression of miR-146b and androgen receptor (AR) played critical roles in the tumorigenesis of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). It was confirmed that miR-146b expression was significantly inversely correlated with AR expression. Further experiments showed that AR might bind to the androgen receptor element on the promoter region of miR-146b, leading to repression of miR-146b expression and reduction of PTC tumor aggressiveness. PTC patients with low AR/high miR-146b expression were associated with advanced tumor characteristics.

Summary: This study conducted a bibliometric analysis in the field of bladder cancer immunotherapy to explore the research trends, hotspots, and frontiers. The findings revealed that researchers from the United States published the most papers and had extensive collaboration with other countries. The University of Texas MD Anderson CANC CTR was the top institution in terms of published articles and collaborative research. The J UROLOGY was the most active and frequently co-cited journal. The study categorized bladder cancer immunotherapy research into three main categories: basic research, clinical trials, and prognosis. The future direction of research may focus on tumor microenvironment, immune checkpoint inhibitors, and their combination with other drugs.

Summary: The study found that circulating miR-449a levels were significantly decreased in CRC patients compared to healthy controls, and low miR-449a levels were significantly associated with CEA and CA19-9 levels as well as a lower 5-year overall survival rate. Low circulating miR-449a levels were also identified as an independent risk factor for CRC.

Summary: This study analyzed PSAT1-targeted miRNAs as a prognostic predictor for gastric cancer. The study found that PSAT1 expression was related to the clinical manifestations and prognosis of gastric cancer. Six microRNAs associated with gastric cancer were identified, and a model for predicting bone metastasis in gastric cancer was constructed.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to determine whether the International Bladder Cancer Group IR-NMIBC scoring system can predict the need for delayed transurethral resection of bladder tumor in low-grade nonmuscle-invasive bladder cancer patients managed by active surveillance. The study found that the scoring system can predict the risk of subsequent transurethral resection of bladder tumor in patients on active surveillance.

Summary: Detection of miR-181a in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of ovarian cancer patients may allow for early diagnosis and prognostic evaluation. MiR-181a could be involved in the development and progression of ovarian cancer as an oncogene. The expression of miR-181a in CTCs captured by EpCAM liposome magnetic beads (Ep-LMBs) correlates with clinical characteristics of ovarian cancer.

Summary: The importance of physical exercise in reducing cancer risk and improving treatment efficacy in tumor patients, especially those with lung cancer, has long been known. Though several molecular mechanisms have been identified, the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in relation to these processes is still unclear. This study aimed to identify and analyze miRNAs associated with lung cancer and exercise intervention. The results identified 42 marker miRNAs, of which three core miRNAs (has-miR-195, has-miR-26b, and has-miR-126) were found to be co-regulated by exercise and cancer, with involvement in cell cycle and immunity. This study supports the potential of exercise intervention as adjuvant therapy for lung cancer patients, with the identified core miRNAs potentially serving as non-invasive biomarkers for cancer prevention.

Summary: The study revealed an association between SNPs within microRNA binding sites and breast cancer prognosis, with the LRRK2 rs10878441 CC genotype being specifically linked to poor prognosis. This genotype may serve as a potential prognostic biomarker for breast cancer. Stratified analyses demonstrated the relevance of rs10878441 in grade II patients and lymph node-negative patients in terms of breast cancer prognosis.
