A gel-entrapped base has been fabricated by using agarose (biopolymer), and tested in the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction in 95% ethanol. The developed environmentally benign polymer-supported base has low leaching and high stability for the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction to give high yield with green credit. Summary: This study investigated the biogenic synthesis of copper oxide nanoparticles from Alpinia zerumbet leaf extract, which showed efficient reactivity, stability, and recyclability in a water solution of NaPTS hydrotrope. The catalytic system formed by CuO NPs fabricated from A. zerumbet leaf extract in combination with NaPTS proved to be the best in terms of yield and reaction time in water at room temperature.
