Summary: This study aims to identify lymph node involvement in OSCC performed in a bilateral systematic approach based on presurgical MRI and CT. The results showed positive lymph node involvement in levels 1 and 2, while no involvement was seen in level 5. Therefore, without any clinical or imaging suspicion, expanding to 5-level MRND should be avoided.

Summary: DECT parameters can be used to identify metastatic cervical lymph nodes in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma and are related to pathological features. Some DECT parameters are correlated with pathological changes in lymph nodes and can aid in the detection of metastatic cervical lymph nodes in OSCC.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of N stage subclassification on different distant metastasis sites based on age stratification, especially for patients with papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC). The results showed that the risk of distant metastasis increased with the progress of N disease, and N1b disease had a higher risk of lung metastasis in younger patients and an increased risk of both lung and bone metastasis in older patients. N1a disease did not increase the risk of distant metastasis in PTMC patients. Combining N stage with risk stratification can be beneficial for predicting distant metastasis.

Summary: This study identified risk factors for cervical lymph node metastasis in multifocality papillary thyroid cancer (MPTC), including gender, extrathyroidal extension (ETE), age, maximal axial diameter (MAD), and the sum of axial diameters (SAD). Patients with these risk factors were recommended to undergo prophylactic central lymph node dissection (CLND). Additionally, CLNM, ETE, MAD, and SAD were found to be independent risk factors for lateral lymph node metastasis (LLNM) in MPTC.

Summary: This study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of contrast-enhanced CT in detecting lymph node metastases in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). The results showed that accentuated lymph nodes had higher sensitivity, while melted lymph nodes had higher specificity. Additionally, CT had higher diagnostic accuracy for detecting lymph node metastases in level IIa and IIb compared to level III. Patients with accentuated lymph nodes were more likely to have small, well-differentiated tumors.

Summary: This study aimed to review the literature and discuss the pathogenetic mechanism, cytologic features, and surgical treatment recommendations for cervical lymph node metastasis (LNM) from primary central nervous system (CNS) tumors. The analysis included data from 174 patients, revealing a low incidence of cervical LNM, with the most common sites of metastasis being bones, lungs, and non-cervical lymph nodes. Fine-needle aspiration cytology can provide a pathological diagnosis, allowing surgeons to plan appropriate treatment.

Summary: The study focused on the characteristics of subgingival biofilms and their relationship with periodontitis, finding correlations between microbial communities and clinical diagnostic parameters in periodontitis patients, which were significantly different from healthy microbial communities. Tannerella forsythia may be a potential indicator of periodontitis.

Summary: The authors report the human papillomavirus features and genomic landscape in small cell cervical carcinoma (SCCC) using high-throughput sequencing methods. They identify MYC, SOX, NR4A, ANKRD, and CEA family genes as HPV-integrated hotspots. In addition, they discover prominent HPV integration patterns and canonical cancer genes associated with focal copy number amplification peaks. These findings may contribute to the accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of SCCC.

Summary: This study developed and validated an ultrasound radiomics nomogram for predicting the risk of cervical lymph node metastasis in patients with micropapillary thyroid microcarcinoma (mPTMC) based on factors such as sex, age, tumor size, invasion, and ultrasound scores. The model showed favorable predictive value and reliability, and can assist in surgical decision making.

Summary: Parathyroid carcinoma is a rare endocrine malignancy with poor outcomes. Surgery is the main treatment, but the optimal extent of surgery remains inconclusive. This study investigated the patterns and predictors of cervical lymph node metastasis in parathyroid carcinoma patients. The results showed that the percentage of cervical lymph node metastasis was 19.4% at initial surgery and 25.0% including reoperations. High-risk Schulte staging and CDC73 abnormalities were identified as risk factors for cervical lymph node metastasis.

Summary: The Future API in R is designed for concurrent and asynchronous evaluation of code, making it useful for parallel processing. It provides constructs for implementing parallel versions of map-reduce APIs and bridges parallel frontends with various parallel backends. Third-party contributions meeting specifications ensure compatibility with all backends, solving problems not addressed by other parallel frameworks in R.
