Summary: In this study, a series of hexanuclear chloride and sulfate Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes were successfully synthesized from appropriate metal salts and octadecaaza macrocyclic ligands. The obtained coordination compounds were characterized using various methods, including elemental analysis, spectroscopic methods, magnetic measurements, and X-ray crystallography. The X-ray crystal structures revealed different coordination modes of the metal cations in the obtained coordination compounds. The folding conformation of the macrocyclic ligand depended on the number of metal cations bound within the macrocycle. All Ni(II) and Cu(II) coordination compounds exhibited paramagnetic behavior. The magnetic measurements showed that the magnetic behavior of certain complexes was dominated by the magnetic anisotropy of the metal ion, while others revealed small antiferromagnetic interactions within the metal units. The EPR experiments indicated that the predominant contribution to the orbitals occupied by the unpaired electrons in the ground state originated from d(x2-y2) orbitals.

Summary: The synthesis and characterization of HL and its cobalt, copper, manganese, nickel, palladium, and platinum complexes were investigated using various physico-chemical techniques. The coordination geometries of Ni2+ and Pd2+ were square planar, while that of copper atom was described as tetrahedrally distorted square planar. Toxicity assessment showed that the Mn2+ complex did not exhibit any lethal effect on animal cells.

Summary: Many pyrazoles-based Schiff bases were reported to exhibit high activity against bacterial, parasitic strains, and cancer cells. A new pyrazole based 'NO' bidentate ligand was synthesized and metal complexes with Co+2, Ni+2, Cu+2, and Zn+2 were also prepared. The characterization of the compounds and their metal complexes was performed, and the metal complexes showed enhanced activity compared to the ligand. They exhibited significant anticancer and antibacterial activity, as well as antifungal activity.

Summary: In this study, a new series of Schiff base metal complexes were synthesized and characterized. The thermal stability and photophysical properties of these complexes were investigated. The results showed that the metal ions affected the thermal strength and fluorescence quenching constant of the complexes, with the Cu(II) complex exhibiting the highest thermal strength. Due to their high fluorescence quenching constants, these complexes could be potential active ingredients in anticancer drug transport systems.

Summary: In this study, a novel symmetric bis-Schiff base (H2L) was synthesized and its structure was determined using various spectral and physicochemical techniques. The synthesized compounds were found to have octahedral geometry, except for one which had a tetrahedral structure. Additionally, one of the complexes (5) exhibited the highest antibacterial activity among the ligand, complexes, and standard antibiotic.

Summary: In this study, a new Schiff base and its Ni(II) and Pd(II) complexes were synthesized and characterized. The antiproliferative activities of these compounds on liver cancer cells were evaluated, and it was found that the complexes exhibited stronger activity than the ligand. Electroporation was also shown to enhance the cytotoxicity of the complexes. These findings suggest that the Ni(II) and Pd(II) complexes have potential as anti-cancer agents, particularly in electrochemotherapy.

Summary: Three metal complexes based on 2,3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde-2-(2-aminophenyl)benzimidazole Schiff base were synthesized and characterized. Complex 1 belongs to the monoclinic crystal system, complex 2 belongs to the triclinic crystal system, and complex 3 belongs to the trigonal crystal system. The complexes exhibited excellent anticancer activities, with complex 2 showing significantly better properties than cisplatin against CNE-2Z cells. Additionally, complex 2 was found to inhibit tumor cell proliferation through apoptosis and migration.
