Summary: A template-assisted assembly approach to a C24 fullerene-like double-stranded DNA polyhedral shell is proposed. The assembly employed a supramolecular oligonucleotide dendrimer as a 3D template that was obtained via the hybridization of siRNA strands and a single-stranded DNA oligonucleotide joined to three- or four-way branched junctions. The article discusses the use of a photolabile protecting group to prevent premature auto-hybridization of the self-complementary oligonucleotides, as well as the incorporation of cleavable linkers to guide the post-assembly disconnection of the shell. The study also explores the modification of siRNA strands to enhance enzymatic stability.

Summary: In this study, paclitaxel (PTX) and curcumin (Cur) were encapsulated into nanogels (NG-PC) for the synergistic suppression of breast tumors. NG-PC showed controlled and cumulative release of PTX and Cur, as well as a remarkable killing effect against cancer cells. In vivo evaluation on tumor-bearing mice demonstrated that NG-PC had significantly higher antitumor ability compared to a single drug. This research provides a simple method to prepare a nano-drug delivery platform with excellent drug co-loading ability and synergistic antitumor effect.

Summary: This study evaluated the impact of two DNA preservation methods (95% ethanol and RNAlater) and five extraction approaches on the avian gut microbiota. Systematic testing revealed differences in extraction efficacy, but minimal influence on 16S rRNA gene-based microbiota profiles. The chosen preservation and extraction method was effective across phylogenetically and ecologically diverse avian species, providing an important foundation for ongoing research.

Summary: In this study, three-dimensional honeycomb macroporous carbon was synthesized and VS4 nanoparticles and nano-flakes were grown in-situ. The composite exhibited excellent rate capability, high reversible capacity, and stable long-term cycling performance. The intercalation reaction of VS4 contributed significantly to the capacity, and the kinetics properties, including capacitive behavior, diffusion coefficients, and reaction impedance, were improved.

Summary: This study demonstrates a rapid, multiplex detection method for miRNAs based on RPI, achieving sub-pM quantification of different miRNAs in about 1.5 hours without the need for washing steps. The method involves specific capture with surface DNA probes and a 35-fold mass amplification using antibodies, enabled by the characterization of individual interactions through RPI.

Summary: A new approach has been developed to synthesize multiple three-dimensional functional nucleic acid nanostructures by harnessing photo-polymerization-induced self-assembly. These structures, including micelles, rods, and short worms, provide higher nuclease resistance in serum, greater cellular uptake efficiency, and increased bioactivity for the two FNAs.

Summary: The study suggests that tetrahedral framework nucleic acids (tFNAs) can improve the proliferation and migration of synovium-derived mesenchymal stem cells (SMSCs) and enhance their chondrogenic potential by increasing the phosphorylation of Smad2/3. In animal models, tFNAs injection improved the therapeutic outcome of cartilage defects compared to control treatments without tFNAs.
