Summary: Preterm birth (PTB) is a major public health issue worldwide, and this study aimed to investigate whether there is a shared uteroplacental etiology in PTB subtypes during the first trimester of pregnancy. The analysis found that factors used to predict preterm PE risk could also be used to predict PTB at < 33 weeks, suggesting a shared etiological pathway for preterm births.

Summary: The prediction of pre-eclampsia is important, but current biomarkers face challenges in clinical settings. This study found that incorporating serum creatinine levels and considering renal hyperfiltration significantly improved PE prediction. The developed model is practical and can be easily applied in primary care settings.

Summary: In singleton pregnancies, prepregnancy underweight BMI is associated with higher rates of preterm birth and small-for-gestational age infants. Identifying this high-risk group is important for physicians to be aware of perinatal outcomes in underweight women.

Summary: This study explores the association between gestational FT3 and TT3 levels and adverse obstetric outcomes. The findings suggest that FT3 and TT3 levels have different associations with various adverse obstetric outcomes, with high TT3 associated with an increased risk of gestational hypertension and low TT3 associated with a higher risk of very preterm birth.

Summary: In high income countries, a significant percentage of pregnancies are complicated by conditions such as pre-eclampsia, preterm birth, fetal growth restriction, and gestational diabetes. Despite the lack of effective preventive or treatment methods, recent research has shown the potential of studying maternal and placental extracellular vesicles as predictive and diagnostic biomarkers for these obstetric disorders. Further research is needed to enhance understanding and management of these pathologies.

Summary: Organophosphate esters (OPEs) have been found to be developmental toxicants in animal studies, but limited evidence is available in humans. This study investigated the association between gestational exposure to OPEs and gestational age, preterm birth, and newborn anthropometric measures. The findings suggest that certain OPEs may be associated with these outcomes, with some associations being specific to certain time windows and infant sex.

Summary: This study revealed a non-linear association between vitamin E concentrations in the first trimester and gestational vitamin E change with pre-eclampsia. The findings showed that vitamin E concentrations below 7.3 mg/L and gestational decrease were associated with increased risk of pre-eclampsia.

Summary: This study examines the impact of preterm birth and size-for-gestational age on stillbirths using six different "newborn types". The findings reveal that nearly three-quarters of stillbirths are preterm, while one-fifth are small-for-gestational-age. The combination of preterm and small-for-gestational-age births is associated with the highest stillbirth rates.

Summary: This study evaluated the impact of gestational age dating uncertainty on the performance of a proteomic biomarker risk predictor and validated its effectiveness in a broader range of gestational age. The findings showed that excluding last menstrual period dating improved the sensitivity of the risk predictor and had important implications for predicting preterm birth.

Summary: Objective non-invasive assessment of maternal cardiovascular potential and kinetic energy using PKR and SMII may help distinguish pregnancies affected by specific placental disorders and those exhibiting healthy cardiovascular adaptation to pregnancy. Women with HDP and/or SGA have distinctive PKR and SMII profiles, reflecting low kinetic energy in pregnancies with SGA and high potential energy in pregnancies affected by HDP. Non-invasive assessment of potential and kinetic cardiovascular energy demonstrates high-flow and low-resistance adaptation in uncomplicated pregnancies.

Summary: The evidence on the relationship between prenatal phthalates exposure and preterm birth is uncertain, with most associations not being statistically significant. Heterogeneity was mainly found in studies conducted in China and matrix collected at the first trimester of pregnancy. A multicenter cohort study with a consistent approach is recommended to unravel the complex associations of prenatal phthalates exposure with birth outcomes.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the long-term durability and functional outcome of laparoscopic sacrohysteropexy (LSH). The results showed a gradual decrease in surgical success with increasing minimal follow-up time, while the rates of stress urinary incontinence, anal incontinence, and constipation decreased significantly. Regardless of minimal follow-up time, LSH had a positive long-term effect on quality of life.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the rate of surgical intervention in medical treatment for early pregnancy loss (EPL) based on gestational size measured by ultrasound. The study found that patients without an embryonic pole in the gestational sac had a lower rate of surgical intervention, while a gestational size greater than 9 weeks increased the risk of additional surgical intervention.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the effect of preemptive infiltration on postoperative pain and the use of analgesics after vaginal hysterectomy. A total of 120 patients who had undergone VH were included in the retrospective study. The results showed that preemptive infiltration group required a lower morphine dose in the recovery unit and less use of analgesia 24 hours after surgery. Evaluation: 7 points.

Summary: The study aims to investigate the correlation between the interval between gestational age calculated using the last menstrual period (GA-LMP) and gestational age calculated via ultrasound (GA-US) and the success rate of medical treatment in cases of miscarriages. The results show that a longer GA-LMP to GA-US interval is independently correlated with a lower success rate of the medical treatment option for miscarriages.
