Summary: By designing a multicolor fluorescent nanoprobe Cas-NP, the activation of caspases-1/3/4 during pyroptosis can be accurately monitored, revealing the pathways of pyroptosis under different stimuli. Through studying the pyroptosis process in cancer cells, it was first discovered that LPS stimulation can induce caspase-3 activation, and the activation sequence of caspases-1/3/4 was verified.

Summary: In the search for new compounds with antitumor activity, new potential anticancer agents were designed as molecular hybrids containing the structures of a triazine ring and a sulfonamide fragment. The obtained compounds showed cytotoxic activity against tumor cell lines and induced cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. The study also revealed the key role of certain substituents for the cytotoxic activity.

Summary: The herbicide MCPA negatively affects tomato seedlings by inhibiting root growth and nutrient uptake, while inoculation with the bacterial strain N3 can enhance nutrient absorption and hormone levels in tomatoes. Additionally, N3 can increase the abundance of specific bacterial phyla in the soil.

Summary: A series of novel compounds were synthesized and evaluated for their anticancer activity. The most promising compounds showed a high cytotoxic effect in HeLa cancer cells and exhibited less cytotoxicity against non-tumor cells. The compounds were found to induce apoptosis in HeLa cells and undergo oxidation reactions in human liver microsomes.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of introducing nitrogen atoms into the helicene framework on the physicochemical properties of the molecules. The insertion of a nitrogen atom significantly affects certain properties while leaving others almost unaffected. Furthermore, nitrogen atoms can be utilized for further derivatization to modify helicene properties.

Summary: A novel methodology for the successful synthesis of aza[n]-phenacenes was developed, introducing nitrogen atoms to induce changes in physicochemical properties. The important characteristics of the prepared aza[n]phenacenes were studied experimentally and compared to their carbo analogues. Features of the crystalline aza[n]phenacenes were also investigated, including intermolecular interactions and changes in solubility or melting points.

Summary: The study found that breed and transport/lairage conditions were the most important factors influencing different caspase activities, with the Rubia Gallega breed showing a completely different behavior compared to the Asturiana de los Valles and Retinta breeds. Additionally, it is postulated that the apoptosis cascade is initiated through the activation of caspase 9 under hypoxic or metabolic stress, followed by the activation of executioner caspases 3/7.
