Difatty acyl thiourea (DEAT), which has biological activities as antibiotics and antifungal, has been synthesized from palm oil and thiourea using sodium ethoxide as catalyst. Ethyl fatty ester (EFT) and glycerol were produced as by-products. The synthesis was carried out by reflux palm oil with thiourea in ethanol. In this process, palm oil converted to about 81% pure DFAT after 11 hour and molar ratio of thiourea to palm oil was 6.0: 1 at 78 degrees C. Elemental analysis, Fourier transform iInfrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and H-1 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technique were used to characterize both DFAT and EFT.

Thermodynamic Properties of Rifampicin Redox Current Peaks in Human Blood Samples Using Nano-Sensor (Carbon Nanotubes / Glassy Carbon Electrode)

Summary: The study focused on investigating the impact of different temperatures on the redox peaks of rifampicin in human blood medium, revealing an enhancement of peaks at 36 degrees Celsius. By applying the Arrhenius equation, the activation energy values for oxidative and anti-oxidative peaks were determined to be 9.252 and 11.026 kJ.mol-1.K-1 respectively. The experimental results shed light on the oxidative stress of the drug in inflammatory blood conditions at varying temperatures.
