Aims and Scope
Research papers must make a significant and original contribution to
microbiology and be of interest to a broad readership. The results of any
experimental approach that meets these objectives are welcome, particularly
biochemical, molecular genetic, physiological, and/or physical investigations into
microbial cells and their interactions with their environments, including their eukaryotic hosts.

Mini-reviews in areas of special topical interest and papers on medical microbiology, ecology and systematics, including description of novel taxa, are also published.

Theoretical papers and those that report on the analysis or 'mining' of data are
acceptable in principle if new information, interpretations, or hypotheses
emerge.

Verified Reviews
Note: Verified reviews are sourced from across review platforms and social media globally.
Return the review results within one month after submission, with only one reviewer. Major revisions required. After spending half a month on revisions, it took another month to return, with the same reviewer. After mentioning English proficiency issues for the second time, sought editing recommendations for polishing. After the polishing, the revised version was directly accepted upon return.

Submitted in April, followed up with the editor after three months, who claimed they couldn't find a reviewer and asked for a recommendation. Major revisions were made in September, minor revisions were made in October, and were accepted.
