Aims and Scope
The purpose of SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing (SISC) is to advance computational methods for solving scientific and engineering problems.

SISC papers are classified into three categories:

1. Methods and Algorithms for Scientific Computing: Papers in this category may include theoretical analysis, provided that the relevance to applications in science and engineering is demonstrated. They should contain meaningful computational results and theoretical results or strong heuristics supporting the performance of new algorithms.

2. Computational Methods in Science and Engineering: Papers in this section will typically describe novel methodologies for solving a specific problem in computational science or engineering. They should contain enough information about the application to orient other computational scientists but should omit details of interest mainly to the applications specialist.

3. Software and High-Performance Computing: Papers in this category should concern the novel design and development of computational methods and high-quality software, parallel algorithms, high-performance computing issues, new architectures, data analysis, or visualization. The primary focus should be on computational methods that have potentially large impact for an important class of scientific or engineering problems.

This journal is almost the best in the field of computational mathematics (of course, there are also the three major journals in computational mathematics, SIAM Numer. Anal., Math. Comput., Numer. Math., which focus more on analysis). There are not many journals better than it, such as SIAM REVIEW and ACTA NUMERICA. If you are working on computational fluid dynamics, computational physics, and related areas, CMAME and JCP are also very good top journals.

In terms of difficulty of publication: SIAM REVIEW and ACTA NUMERICA > SIAM Numer. Anal., Math. Comput., Numer. Math. SISC > CMAME, JCP. To my knowledge, these are the best top journals in the computational field. If there are any other recommendations, they can be added.

Unfortunately, after submitting the manuscript, it took 6 months for a minor revision and a rejection. The editor-in-chief rejected the manuscript because the numerical examples were not done well. After making revisions, it was submitted to CMAME and accepted. I hope to have the opportunity to submit to SISC again in the future.

Overall, the experience was quite pleasant. I submitted two articles, one of which was rejected after the first review and I submitted it to another journal. The other article was accepted after minor revisions, and the review process was smooth. The first review took about 2-3 months to receive a decision, and the accepted article took approximately 5 months from the initial submission to acceptance.
