Aims and Scope

Applied Mathematics and Mechanics is the English version of a journal on applied mathematics and mechanics published in the People's Republic of China. Our Editorial Committee, headed by Professor Chien Weizang, Ph.D., President of Shanghai University, consists of scientists in the fields of applied mathematics and mechanics from all over China.

Founded by Professor Chien Weizang in 1980, Applied Mathematics and Mechanics became a bimonthly in 1981 and then a monthly in 1985. It is a comprehensive journal presenting original research papers on mechanics, mathematical methods and modeling in mechanics as well as applied mathematics relevant to neoteric mechanics.

Since domestic scholars advise us to write articles on the land of our motherland, we should also consider domestic journals. However, many domestic journals are not friendly towards Chinese people. As for journal rankings, it is just something for outsiders to enjoy, and experts can see through it, which doesn't prove much.

Although I haven't submitted to this journal, I can tell you about the common problems with domestic journals. Either you need connections, or your article needs to be outstanding; otherwise, you shouldn't consider domestic journals. Secondly, the next consideration is the high publication fees.

If this magazine is in the first or second tier of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, it is a disgrace to the academic community. It is a paradise for those with connections, and its true level is equivalent to the third or fourth tier. In China, what matters is connections, interpersonal relationships, and emotional intelligence. This magazine values these factors even more.
