The description of this journal by the Chinese Academy of Sciences is not accurate enough. This is a journal on mathematics and physical sciences by the Royal Society of London. Currently, it only accepts invited articles. For regular submissions, authors can choose another journal of the Royal Society called Proceedings of the Royal Society A. The evaluation system of the Chinese Academy of Sciences seems to not favor journals from the Royal Society, as it categorizes Philosophical Transactions and Proceedings into the lower category of Zone 3. However, these two journals have a good reputation overseas and their quality is considered to be in Zone 2 or higher. Based on the domestic evaluation mechanism, it is advisable for Chinese researchers to be cautious when submitting to journals from the Royal Society.
