Aims and Scope
Langmuir is the leading journal focusing on the science and application of systems and materials in which the interface dominates structure and function. Submissions on original advances in the understanding and particularly the rational design of interfaces, including novel concepts and emerging areas, are welcome. The following topics are examples within the scope of Langmuir.

Surfaces and interfaces (synthetic and natural): adsorption, wetting, adhesion, forces and dynamics, surfactants, emulsions, foams, gels, and ultrathin films.
Surface chemistry and forces of interface-rich systems and nanoparticles/colloids.
Interface-driven stability: response, organization and self-organization of (nano)particle suspensions and structures, rheology and mechanics and non-equilibrium thermodynamics.
Charge regulation and transfer at interfaces, electrochemistry, photocatalysis.
Interfacial materials (synthesis/characterization) and processes for energy storage and transduction, and catalysis.
Surface properties and applications of 1D, 2D and layered Van der Waals materials
Single molecule and particle dynamics under confinement.
Bio-interfaces: synthetic surfaces in vivo and in vitro, synthetic or membrane surface dynamics or biofouling, anti-microbial membrane interactions, and hydrophobic/hydrophilic interfaces.
Transformed biointerfaces, such as nanocellulose and adaptive nanoparticles for drug delivery and diagnostics.
Advanced surface and interface characterization techniques.
Advanced microscopy.
Theory & computations of interfacial properties.

2021-04-09: Submitted to Macromolecules
2021-05-24: Two reviewers, one suggested minor revisions and the other suggested submitting to another journal; the editor asked us to submit to ACS Applied Nano Materials.
2021-06-06: Revised the manuscript and submitted along with a response letter to ACS Applied Nano Materials.
2021-06-07: The editor of ACS Applied Nano Materials found that the research content did not align with the journal's theme, so it was not sent for further review.
2021-06-08: Resubmitted the manuscript along with a response letter to Langmuir.
2021-06-15: The editor of Langmuir informed us about a series of manuscript formatting issues, such as modifying the font size of the table of contents. After making the necessary changes, we resubmitted the manuscript.
2021-06-16: The manuscript was accepted by Langmuir!

I am very happy that our research on the surface adhesion of macromolecular films can be published in Langmuir, as it is a leading journal in the field of surface chemistry. According to predictions, the Impact Factor of Langmuir in 2020 was 3.778. Although Impact Factor should not be the sole criterion for evaluation, I sincerely hope that Langmuir's Impact Factor continues to increase, and the journal thrives even more!

10.1 Submission
10.30 Received first round of comments. Four reviewers, two minor revisions, one major revision, and one rejection. The editor gave us 3 weeks to make the major revisions, and we requested a one-month extension to conduct additional experiments.

12.19 Submitted revised manuscript.
1.18 Received second round of comments. The editor found a new expert reviewer who raised two questions and requested major revisions. The editor gave us two weeks for minor revisions (speculating that the previous reviewer who rejected the manuscript may still have rejected it, so a new reviewer was found).

1.31 Submitted revised manuscript for second review.
2.1 Accepted.

The editor is Prof. Heng-Kwong Tsao, who is very dedicated and handles manuscripts exceptionally quickly. We are extremely grateful to him for giving us the opportunity to revise this manuscript.
All four reviewers in the first round provided detailed suggestions. Although one of them rejected the manuscript, their questions were really helpful and greatly improved the article.
The expert reviewer in the second round also provided valuable suggestions.
Both the editor and reviewers were very diligent and prompt. We are very happy and grateful!
