Referring to the experimental data in other people's doctoral dissertations, I spent over a year doing numerical simulation work. I submitted to several journals and got rejected, until finally submitting it here. I have to say, the reviewers and editors of ASME's fluid journal are truly professional. The first review consisted of five pages of comments from three reviewers, which felt overwhelming. It took me several months to make revisions, and the second review took even longer than the first. The two reviewers had almost no comments, and one even gave some suggestions for future work. After making the revisions, there were only three remaining comments for the third review, and one of the reviewers insisted on discussing and adding two issues to the original manuscript. The entire submission and revision process took nearly a year, which was extremely tormenting, but honestly, it greatly improved various aspects of the paper. However, I do not recommend submitting for those in a rush to graduate, but I do recommend it for junior doctoral students as they can learn a lot, despite the process being very challenging. ASME's journal review process is stricter than Elsevier's, even though its impact factor and ranking are not high. However, in the field of fluid mechanics, this journal is still recognized.
