Aims and Scope

The IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion includes in its venue the research, development, design, application, construction, installation, operation, analysis and control of electric power generating and energy storage equipment (along with conventional, cogeneration, nuclear, distributed or renewable sources, central station and grid connection). The scope also includes electromechanical energy conversion, electric machinery, devices, systems and facilities for the safe, reliable, and economic generation and utilization of electrical energy for general industrial, commercial, public, and domestic consumption of electrical energy.

This journal is as slow as a dog, there has been no news after the initial review for 5 months. It is said that most articles that come back within 2-3 months are rejected, while those that require major revisions have a greater chance of acceptance after 4 months or more. Articles related to electrical engineering are preferred, and the review process is slightly faster for these topics, as most reviewers of this journal are more familiar with electrical engineering.

This journal is so frustrating. It took 6 months for the review process, and the reviewers provided a few suggestions for rejection. This journal is completely irresponsible towards the authors. The review cycle is incredibly long, especially for submissions in the field of power electronics and power systems. It's really, really long. However, for submissions in the field of electrical engineering, you can give it a try as the cycle is relatively fast.
