The first paper I collaborated with my wife on has been a tragedy. Let me share the experience of submitting this paper. After submission, it took three months for it to go from "under review" to "editor's decision," only to revert back to "under review." After another three months, the result came out and it was rejected, with five reviewers involved. The first reviewer provided very helpful comments and believed it could be accepted with revisions. The second reviewer also saw potential in the paper but recommended thorough revisions based on their suggestions. The third reviewer only provided modification suggestions without a clear inclination. The fourth and fifth reviewers harshly rejected the paper, raising many issues that made us feel like they didn't even read the paper properly. In the end, the editor rejected it, which can only be described as regrettable. As for the reasons, it's subjective and open to interpretation.

ieee has been blacklisted for life. I submitted my paper around October 23rd last year and received major revisions in April this year. It took about 10 days to make the requested changes and resubmit. However, my paper was rejected in the second review, which I received on October 3rd. The problem is that there was no response regarding the revisions from the first review. Instead, the editor simply stated that it lacked innovation compared to other works. Although I didn't carefully read all the calculations related to non-uniform waveguides that he mentioned, I don't think they are relevant to my research area at all. The issue of lacking innovation was never mentioned during the five months of the first review. Even if I were to submit to other journals, I wouldn't choose this one.
