Another top journal destroyed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences... In the field of green chemistry and clean energy, it is globally recognized as a top journal. Compared to other energy journals, there are relatively fewer articles from Chinese authors, making it more difficult to get published (just by looking at the scarce comments, you can tell). There are many early benchmark papers from renowned international groups. Several benchmark articles on electrolysis of water and synthesis of ammonia were first published in ChemSusChem. Recently, two articles from our team in the field of water treatment materials were rejected after being submitted to ChemSusChem and then resubmitted to other journals, and it feels like the difficulty is slightly higher than that of ES&T.

However, this well-established journal is ranked as non-top + tier 2 when it falls into the hands of the Chinese Academy of Sciences? And the Chinese spam journal, Applied Surface Science, is actually ranked as tier 1 by the Chinese Academy of Sciences?

Do the people in charge of the ranking at the Chinese Academy of Sciences have any shame in the past two years?

2022.5.11 Submission
2022.6.7 Returned, the editor gave a rejection with the option to resubmit after editing. Two reviewers provided several suggestions, but did not explicitly reject it. I felt that a major revision would be more appropriate, which made me quite disappointed. I was afraid that spending time on revisions would be a waste if it didn't work out. During this period, I also tried submitting several other articles with over 10 pages, but none of them were sent for review. So, I calmed down and focused on revising the article, addressing each comment.
2022.7.4 Resubmitted
2022.8.10 Returned, requiring major revisions
2022.8.28 Accepted.
Summary: The review comments came back relatively quickly, and there is still a good chance for resubmission after rejection. Don't be discouraged, as I have previously had a submission that was accepted after being rejected and resubmitted. There is a high probability of acceptance with careful revisions.
