This is very interesting--they will even fund health benefits research. However, the web site does not indicate whether funding will be available for 2022.
I had never heard that stroke was a known complication of CoVID-19 (and I'm following the pandemic pretty closely), but my neighbor is currently in the hospital with nearly continuous TIAs, and now bleeding associated with the anti-coagulants. Evidently the biological mechanism is "sepsis-induced coagulopathy.” Very scary!
Wow! To access this journal's web page, you have to get by a screen that says "Are you a medical professional? I am a health care professional authorized to prescribe or distribute medications or medical devices and therefore fulfilling the conditions laid out under the provisions Section 2a, 5b of the Act no. 40/1995 Coll., on the regulation of advertising, as amended." Then you have to confirm that you are a medical professional and one that says that you are aware of the risks of accessing the site "by a person who is not a medical professional."
What's that about?
I like that this journal requires that its abstracts have a section "Novelty Impact Statement" or "Practical Applications." It's surprising how many investigators have a very hard time articulating the "real world" implications of their studies.
This is the kind of methodological research that needs to be done in order to better understand the effectiveness (or lack thereof) of large-scale, population-based research.
