Commented on SPSSI Action Grants for Experienced Scholars (SAGES Program)
What an amazing opportunity--I am definitely bookmarking this one.

Journal

Commented on Systematic Reviews
Interesting that this is categorized as Medicine. Is there a Methodology category for journals?

Journal

Commented on BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine
What a clear, easy-to-follow page for submitting a manuscript: https://bmccomplementmedtherapies.biomedcentral.com/submission-guidelines ! Often I find myself having to hunt around for specific information.

Article

Commented on Anaphylaxis from bee pollen supplement
This is an important finding. In the US, nutritional supplements are not regulated (although associated health claims are); were they, a warning might be required for bee pollen supplements.

Journal

Commented on Journal of Complementary Medicine
I cannot find this journal online. Similar names, but not this specific one.

Commented on Genomic Expert Curation Panels (U24 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
This appears to be a call for volunteer panelists, rather than for funding.

Article

Commented on STROBE Reporting Guidelines for Observational Studies
It is not clear from the abstract why this article is being published in 2021, as it deals with the STROBE guidelines from 2004, and no mention of an update to the guidelines, although there is a link to an editorial from this issue about reporting guidelines.

Article

Commented on Effects of a Kundalini Yoga Program on Elementary and Middle School Studentsʼ Stress, Affect, and Resilience
I'm very pleased to see this. I would like to know if any large-scale, randomized trials are planned.

Article

Commented on Berberine inhibits NADPH oxidase mediated superoxide anion production in macrophagesThis article is one of a selection of papers published in a Special Issue on Oxidative Stress in Health and Disease.
This interesting abstract covers a commonly given supplement to treat atherosclerosis, but would be improved had the authors include a sentence or two of non-technical language explaining the potential benefits to human health.

Here is the correct URL: https://mw.usembassy.gov/embassy/lilongwe/funding-opportunities/public-diplomacy-small-grants-program/

Article

Commented on Effect of a food supplement containing berberine, monacolin K, hydroxytyrosol and coenzyme Q10 on lipid levels: a randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled study
Although this is a thorough, well-designed and well-written study (full text freely available), it seem that it would need to be paired with similar studies to determine whether the compounded supplement produces more efficacious outcomes when compared to any of its components individually.

Article

Commented on Evaluation of potential human health risk associated with consumption of edible products from livestock fed ration supplemented with Red Lake Diatomaceous Earth
I appreciate the clear and detailed statements regarding potential conflicts of interest that follow this abstract. This demonstrates a clear research ethic.

Article

Commented on Effects of Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) on VO2max: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
So glad to see this information, and that the authors followed the PRISMA guidelines, and even mentioned that fact in the abstract.

Article

Commented on Topical grape (Vitis vinifera) seed extract promotes repair of full thickness wound in rabbit
Nicely written, solid study; full text freely available online.
