Summary: Acute lung injury (ALI) is a common and devastating clinical disorder with a high mortality rate and no specific therapy. The aim of this study was to evaluate the protective effects of Adelmidrol (ADM) in a mice model of ALI induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS). ADM administration reduced lung damage, airway infiltration, and oxidative stress by regulating mast cells and antioxidant enzymes. These findings suggest that ADM could be a potential candidate in the management of ALI.

Summary: This study found that uridine metabolism is closely related to combating oxidative stress, and redox imbalance-mediated ferroptosis plays a key role in sepsis-induced acute lung injury (ALI). The results showed that uridine metabolism can alleviate lung injury and inflammation, and inhibit tissue iron levels and lipid peroxidation. Uridine also inhibits macrophage ferroptosis by activating the Nrf2 signaling pathway. Therefore, uridine supplementation may be a potential avenue for ameliorating sepsis-induced ALI by suppressing ferroptosis.

Summary: In this study, the protective effect of nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute lung injury (ALI) was evaluated. NMN exhibited significant therapeutic effects in the ALI mouse model by attenuating the pathological damage, reducing inflammation and oxidative stress, and inhibiting cell apoptosis. These findings suggest that NMN may be a potential therapeutic agent for ALI.

Summary: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a clinical syndrome resulting from renal structure decline or impairment, but therapeutics often fail to produce desired effects due to pharmacokinetic limitations. Nanodrugs offer potential solutions by enhancing targeted delivery and accumulation, thus improving AKI prevention and treatment. This review summarizes the use of various nanosystems to improve drug pharmacokinetics and reduce renal burden, as well as alleviate oxidative stress-induced damage and regulate the inflammatory environment in AKI.
