Summary: This study used a biomechanical model to analyze the impact of backrest and seat-pan inclination angles on the muscle activity and spinal load of drivers. The results showed that the optimal range for the backrest inclination angle is 3-15 degrees, which effectively reduces muscle activity and spinal load. The optimal range for seat-pan inclination is determined to be 5-16 degrees, providing better overall driving comfort.

Summary: This study analyzed the variations in global muscular pattern and biomechanical parameters during sit-to-stand transfers with different backrest inclinations and execution speeds. Results showed that backrest inclination influenced muscle activity levels in the postural phase, while higher execution speed led to increased and earlier activities of various muscles, particularly in the postural phase.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the buccolingual inclination of mandibular first molars and their alveolar bones and their relationship with different vertical facial types. The results showed a significant correlation between the inclination of the tooth and alveolar bone, but no significant correlation between the inclination of alveolar bone and vertical facial types. This study supports the importance of maintaining a proper curve of Wilson during orthodontic treatment.

Summary: This retrospective study aimed to investigate the influence of malposition on the occurrence of peri-implantitis. The results showed that malposition was not statistically significantly associated with the occurrence of peri-implantitis. Factors significantly associated with peri-implantitis included presence/history of periodontitis and presence of a prosthetic emergence profile angle >= 45 degrees.

Summary: This study determined significant postural changes in relation to mandibular position in adult patients between maximum intercuspation and mandibular rest. Changes were observed in various segments, with clinical and statistical significance at cervical level in the frontal plane, in the biscapular variable in the dorsal plane, and at the level of the lower limbs in the bipopliteal and bimalleolar variables.

Summary: This retrospective longitudinal CBCT study compared the effects of lip bumper (LB) therapy on the position of mandibular incisors with the effects of rapid maxillary expansion (RME) treatment. The results showed that LB had limited effects on the position of mandibular incisors, with both groups experiencing similar eruption and protrusion of the incisors.

Summary: This study compared the U-tube and cusp dynamic navigation system registration methods for dental implant placement and assessed the impact of missing teeth location on these registrations. The results showed that both methods had acceptable accuracy with no significant difference. However, the U-tube method showed significant difference when assessing the location of missing teeth, while cusp registration was unaffected. Therefore, the cusp dynamic navigation system registration technique is not only accurate but also overcomes the limitations of the U-tube approach and deserves further clinical research.

Summary: The study used CBCT data to investigate the anatomical relationship between the mandibular molar and alveolar bone for the design of implant restoration. Results showed no significant differences in morphology between the left and right lower first molars, with morphology classified into straight, oblique, and concave types. The proposed classification provides evidence for appropriate selection and design of mandibular molar implants, with the concave type posing the highest risk of lingual perforation.

Summary: Steam ejector, widely used in various industries, suffers from poor performance due to nozzle deviation caused by assembly error and vibration. This research numerically simulates the ejector with nozzle deviation to investigate its impact on performance. Deviation of the primary nozzle was found to deteriorate ejector performance, especially at critical mode and sub-critical mode.

Summary: This study investigated orofacial pain in individuals with Down syndrome (DS) and found that males were more likely to experience myalgia and referred myofascial pain in the left masseter muscle compared to females. Males also had lower electrical activity and maximum bite force in the temporal and masseter muscles, indicating higher masticatory muscle hypotonia. Sleep disorders were identified in both sexes, but with no significant differences.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of chemical agents in removing biofilms of Candida albicans and Streptococcus mutans from invisible aligners. The results showed that chlorhexidine and orthophosphoric acid had higher antibacterial effects, while 1% sodium hypochlorite and alkaline peroxide also had significant effects. Therefore, these chemical agents can be used for disinfection of invisible aligners.

Summary: The restoration of endodontically treated teeth (ETT) is a complex issue as there is still no agreement on the best approach. This study aimed to understand how dentists approach the restoration, comparing those with biomimetic dentistry training to those without. A survey was conducted with 78 general dentists who were asked to make restorative decisions on five extracted teeth with varying levels of structural loss. CAD/CAM reconstructions were used to analyze tooth loss volume and compare with survey results. The study found that biomimetic dentists were more likely to choose conservative treatment options rather than full coverage crowns, except when the volume of tooth loss was significant. This study also introduced a new method of digitally developing tooth loss volume for comparison.

Summary: This in vitro study examined the biocompatibility and abrasivity of whitening and conventional toothpastes. The results showed that whitening toothpastes EWW and OB had significant cytotoxicity but no genotoxic effects, while conventional toothpaste C was abrasive to enamel surfaces. These findings may aid in personalized selection of commercial toothpastes based on individual needs.
